About a year ago, Do Good Media was hired to help produce a brand identity for Suwannee County, FL. The office of Suwannee County Economic Development brought us on to take the ideas from the committee and turn them into a fleshed out brand. The purpose was to attract industry and also give residents a brand to embrace. The committee we worked with was made up of local representatives from around the county including, Spirit of the Suwannee, Town of Branford, Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce. The experience was a great one, we are proud of the work that came from that effort.
We developed an entire brand position. The difficulty was to distinguish Suwannee County from other rural communities around the state seeking business investment. The intention was to create an authentic, accurate, and positive image that locals and visitors could embrace. The Suwannee River was a critical element in the brand due to it’s name recognition, and the geographic prominence it plays in Suwannee County boarder. Another element that continued to come up during research, was the fact that people who have lived here and moved away, want to come home.
We found that the ideal scenario would include individual residents focusing on the positive emotions of “home” and potential businesses seeking a place where employees could be embraced. The result was “Come Home to Suwannee County”. See some of the branding images we developed below.
